I am an out-of-network provider and do not participate in any insurance networks. Payment is due at the time of session and I accept credit cards, checks or cash. Please note that many health insurance policies (with the exception of Medicare and Medicaid) partially or fully reimburse the services of an out-of-network licensed psychologist. You will be provided with a fully furnished statement that includes all the information insurance companies require to process claims. You can submit this statement to your insurance company to get reimbursed by them directly. It is suggested that you verify that your benefits include coverage of out-of-network providers should you decide to submit statements for reimbursement. You can ask your insurance company the following questions:
– Do I have out-of-network benefits for individual psychotherapy appointments?
– If so, what is my coverage?
– Do I have to meet a deductible before the out-of-network benefits kick in?
– If so, do my out of pocket costs for psychotherapy sessions help me meet my deductible?
If you are still wondering what to ask your insurance company, I am happy to talk you through this process of gathering the information you need or answer any additional questions you might have.
